Hey everyone, Front here! If you don't know me, I'm one of the contributors on the Return Youtube Dislike extension.  I'm here to set straight some of the common misunderstandings about the extension. First off, let's actually clarify how it works. As you may know, there was a public youtube API   that was available up until December 13, 2021 that let us get the dislike count as well as   other data like views and likes, directly from  youtube. They have discontinued the dislike api   and we now have to get the dislike data ourselves. To generate our dislike data we take the number   of dislikes from our extension users. Divide that  by the number of likes from our extension users   and then multiply that by the public like  count. This data is also archived by us in case this feature is to be removed. Because of the way that we calculate dislikes, the more extension users that we have, the  more accurate it is to the actual dislike count. oh yeah, one last thing if you're having issues with the extension: you should follow our troubleshooting steps on  our site. If you're still having issues, you can always check the "#api-status" channel in our Discord to make sure that we aren't having server issues.
