Minecraft 1.18 - The Skeleton Update - Skeletons can now sprint like they do when aiming, the bug stopping them from sprinting without aiming has been fixed. - Skeletons picking up swords also now get access to panic mode, they swing faster the closer the player is. - Skeletons can now wield crossbows. Skeletons, being excellent marksmen, load faster and fire more accurately than Pillagers do. - Skeletons too can use tridents. Skeletons have a far more accurate aim than Drowneds, and therefor can throw furthur. - Wither Skeletons have a chance of spawning in the overworld, outside of Nether Portals. - Skeletons no longer fear Wolves when wearing armour, as the Wolves cannot tell the difference. - When a player dies, there's a chance that a Skeleton can spawn holding their equipment. - Note: Player Skeletons are currently bugged, they do not drop loot. - A new structure exists to explore, the Catacombs. Like Ocean Monuments and Guardians, Catacombs will spawn large amounts of Skeletons without needing a spawner. - Several Skeleton variants have been added. Missing Links are Apelike Skeletons that throw a new weapon, Spears, and can only be found in Savannahs and Jungles. - A second variant, the Sunken, are Skeletons that have been submerged, like the Drowneds, and naturally spawn with Tridents. - In a unique twist, we're also adding Phantom Riders, a tag team between a very large Phantom and three Skeletons. This acts as a miniboss for the new Skeleton Citadel. - Another new structure has been added, the Skeleton Citadel. Inside there's a lot of rare loot, including Bone Armour, Skeleton's Quiver, and a new music disc, Skeleton Dance. - A common spawn on top of the Skeleton Citadel and a rare spawn in both the Overworld and the Nether, we have included the Skeleton Longbowman, with more range than the previous Skeletons. - As we realised that Skeletons are made out of bone, a strong material, we have decided to give them an extra five hearts to compensate. - All Humanoid mobs now have a rare chance of 'respawning' as a Skeleton the night after they are killed. - Several new blocks have been added, Witherbone blocks, and also fences, stairs and slabs for both Witherbone and Bone blocks. - Baby Skeletons have been finally added after fan demand. They run twice as fast as an adult Skeleton, and fire twice as fast too! - As it seemed odd they could wear all armours but not Elytra, we have now enabled Skeletons to wear and use Elytra, rejoice!
