STAR: Obus Description: Obus is a moderately large star located in the Outer Seregon arm region of the galaxy, closer to the tip of the arm. It has Seven planets orbiting it, including two green, twin gas giants (Taito and Turundi, named after the Sakolo Shaman twins of ancient lore), It also has 3 smaller rocky planets (uninhabitable without terraforming) and 1 large rocky planet named Kinthe, and a smaller gas planet located near the outskirts of the system. The Obus system is owned by the Sakolo's Empire named Taratek. PLANET: Kinthe Description: Kinthe is a smaller rocky planet located in the Obus System, it is home to the Sakolo species. It is mostly flatlands and swamps, the rest being oceans, lakes, rivers, mountain ranges, and smaller biomes. SEVERAL IMAGES OF KINTHE: including its moon, Kinos: Climate: Kinthe is a moderately warm planet, and has barely any seasonal change. Kinthan Summers and winters are very mild. The highest temperatures recorded on Kinthe were 90-98 degrees farenheit. Perfect for this planet's evolution of ectothermic creatures. Population: The Planet is home to mostly fish, amphibian, and reptile animal species, many of the reptiles have evolved the ability to fly in order to hunt or find suitable nesting grounds. Kinthe is mostly wilderness despite its ideal landscape. There are only a few major supercities inhabited by Sakolo due to conservation laws on the planet. Kinthe's Globally represented Animal species is the Bog Prowler, which is a highly revered and protected carnivore. Notable features: The Highest mountain range on Kinthe, Mount Krekoria, is probably one of the most bizarre features on the planet,It is 60 percent higher than Mount Everest, and diagonally crosses the planet's equator. It is surrounded by nothing but plains and grasslands, but a single lake rests on the southwest side of the mountain, and is also the deepest lake on Kinthe. SPECIES: Sakolo Physical Description: The Sakolo are an unusually brightly colored, carnivorous sapient species, their color is determined after metamorphosis. It is said that before the Sakolo became sapient, they were able to change their color and pattern at will in order to communicate, much like a chameleon, but the ability was long forgotten. They have a long, reptilian head like a pterodactyl, with four blank, pupil-less eyes, and a long black tongue. They have Webbed hands, and clawed feet. Their tails are just a small pointed nub. The most interesting feature about the Sakolo is their feathery head crest and dense, long shoulder feathers. Culture: The Sakolo are dedicated to the ways of non-destructive Science and Research. A common thing for a group of Sakolo friends to do is to discuss new advances in their own personal learning, and they love trivia. Modern adult Sakolo spend much of their day working at their jobs, and much like human teenagers, spend a lot of time gaming. Their sport is Holo-Gaming, A high tech video game with projections and virtual reality in a single portable console. They also have multi purpose Holographic tablets. Life Cycle: The Sakolo undergo metamorphosis, much like frogs. When they hatch from the egg, they are nothing but green, limbless larvae with the distinct long face and four eyes. Over time, they begin to develop arms, which them allows the larvae to interact with the world around them (while staying in water of course). Then their tail begins to split into legs, this is an awkward teenage phase. Once they emerge from the water, they molt for a final time, revealing their new color and pattern! The Sakolo reproduce by laying jelly-encased eggs. Modern Sakolo can live for an average of 144 years! Specialized Technology: The Sakolo have invented mobile tanks for their children, in the form of hovering robots. These robots have several purchasable modules to attach to the casing, the most popular module is the arm module, allowing Sakolo larvae to manipulate objects outside of the water. (And of course the parents get the joy of their child's giggling and happiness) Leaders: The Sakolo have a group of leaders called the Architects. The Architects are the ones who plan how the Taratek empire will progress, they plan terraforming parties, colonization teams, and research teams to explore new, uninhabited planets. The Architects then assemble a poll. if there is a majority vote for colonization, then the Architects build the new colony. There is no Gender bias within this group. meaning that qualifying Male and Female Sakolo are both equally likely to be awarded this rank. Misc: In the distant Past, Sakolo believed in things like magic. and the tribe's Shaman would always be the leader, but there was once a rare occasion of twin Sakolo, two Sakolo larvae in one egg. These twins were the most famous Sakolo in Kinthe's history, Taito and Turundi. Whose names were given to the twin gas Giants in the Obus System. Taito and Turundi led their tribe across a near worldwide mission to convert the savages, gathering millions of members across three continents. At the base of Mount Krekoria, Taito and Turundi were brutally murdered as a sacrifice to the savages who only pretended to be converted. The converts immediately banished the murderers for killing their leaders. Taito and Turundi's bodies were, soon recovered and given a proper cremation, and as a tribute, their faces were carved in Mount Krekoria's cliffs, pointing upward to symbolize thankfulness and love.
